2021 - “Edelweiss” (SOLD)
Learning an instrument is similar to planting the seeds of a flower and watching it grow. In my piece, “Edelweiss,” the small, white flowers may be seen blooming from the sound hole and growing up the neck of the guitar. Much like the notes from a song, these sheet music edelweiss flowers will continue to grow and remain beautiful for eternity.

2021 - “Laceleafing Through the Pages”
This laceleaf (or anthurium) plant, as well as its planter, is made from upcycled book pages. If you look closely, you can see the printed text everywhere...even on the spadix (the yellow part of the flower). I was inspired to create this piece because of some of the similarities between houseplants and books. As plants are known to enhance our daily lives through their beauty and stress-reducing abilities, so to does reading a good book! Standing at approximately 20” in height from the bottom of the base to tip, this bookish plant will always be green and lush - no watering or green thumb required! Exhibited:

2021 - “Hope Blooms 2021”
In 2020, we found ourselves suffering and in need of hope: physically, spiritually and emotionally. Much like our collective psyche last year, the base of my piece is a book with a broken spine, needing support from outside sources to continue to function as it once did; however, there is hope. Through my piece “Hope Blooms 2021,” a rose, created from the pages of the same damaged book, appears to have burst through the publication. A symbiotic relationship, the rose would not exist without being given pages from the book, and the book would no longer have use without providing support to the flower. My wish is that my piece reminds the viewer that we should build upon the lessons we learned in 2020 and use them to bloom in 2021 and beyond. Exhibited:
